• What kind of templates can I upload?

  Online PDF Printer supports Microsoft Word documents (.doc and .docx) as templates. You can use OpenOffice to compose your templates, just make sure that you save your file in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP format.

  You can't upload PDF files to use as templates for PDF output.

• Why do I get such a small amount of storage space?

  We currently only allow uploading of .doc and .docx Word documents, which often take up less than 100KB - 500KB of space each. The amount of storage is balanced against the number of monthly prints that you receive, but we are open to suggestions from users if they feel that the provided space is simply not enough to be useful.

• How can I use checkboxes and radio buttons in my PDF output?

  Online PDF Printer supports special procedures that will automatically create certain data types like this for you. Click here to see available special procedures and examples of how to use them.

• Can I dynamically insert images into my PDFs?

  Yes, you can either upload images to your account to reference in data POSTed to the server, or you can pass an entire JPEG stream of data as a variable to be populated via a special procedure.

• One of my Word 2007 .docx templates doesn't print correctly.

  Whenever possible, make sure your templates display correctly in Word 2003; Word 97 - 2003 compatibility mode in Word 2007 sometimes saves files that don't format correctly when opened in older versions of Word.

  Most WordArt will also render without a problem, but there are differences between Word 2003 and Word 2007 that have been known to cause layout issues in a few templates that have been used with Online PDF Printer.

• I tried to upload a large (multi-MB) template and I got a white screen!

  Word documents usually end up being relatively small files; embedded, high-resolution graphics tend to be what cause filesizes to become larger than expected. Due to how we pre-process templates to be printed as PDF, large amounts of embedded graphics might cause the upload to complete unsuccessfully.

  As of right now, if this is the case, feel free to email us or click in the top-left to leave feedback from My Account to let us know; we'll fix the template for you.

  To further alleviate this issue, we have a forthcoming feature in the works that lets you upload JPEG images to dynamically include in your printed document as if it were any other variable replacement.

• Some of my fonts are disappearing!

  When combining multiple templates, fonts defined in any template after the first one tend to be overwritten or discarded. This is due to each separate document containing a font table local to that document and, when combined, can overlap font references between documents.

  Font tables will be merged into a master table in a future update.

• What fonts are supported?

  This is a complete list of fonts that are currently available in Online PDF Printer.

  New fonts will be periodically added, and future development will allow users to provide missing fonts for their uploaded templates.
